This 2'nd cycle gull stood out as an Iceland type with its small size, rounded head, and small bill. The mantle, however,  seemed to be roughly the same shade as nearby Herring Gulls, and the primaries looked way too dark for the average Kumlien's.

It spent most of its time in the pond bathing which gave good looks at the extent of dark in the primaries and tail.

The tertials looked lighter than the primaries, but still somewhat dark centered. Underside of tail and some of the undertail coverts - darkish

Looked like your average Kumlien's underneath; but the dorsal primaries seemed very Thayer's like.

One of the few pictures of it just sitting (for a second)The primaries don't look all that dark here, but still ....

Good looks at the tail and primaries here.

Taking off for the ocean.
