| a couple of digiscoped images of the Bar-tailed Godwit.
Unfortunately I didn't get any shots of it in company with Hudsonian
Godwits; but it appeared to be slightly larger. The overall coloration
seemed almost identical to nearby breeding plumaged Red Knots. The
strong light would make the rump look whitish at some angles and one
observer reported seeing a white wedge going up the lower back. These (crappy)
photos, however, proves that both the lower back, rump, and underwings
actually were barred and not pure white. |
